Laney hung jersey banners up in the gym on a special night vs New Hanover honoring 4 professional players.

Michael Jordan, 6-time world champion with Chicago Bulls,

Kevin Whitted, standout at Tennessee and drafted by the Dallas Mavericks,

Tamera Young, James Madison All Time Leading Scorer, currently playing for Chicago Sky, and 

Shaqwedia Wallace, over 1000 pt scorer for Temple and played overseas professionally.



Coaches VS Cancer Night

In our annual Coaches vs Cancer game to raise money for Zimmer Cancer Center, the Bucs come up short to 1st place New Hanover. Senior Bert Rivenbark had 12pts and 10rebs, Sophmore CJ Kirchoff with 14pts, freshman Rob Peterson with 12pts and 6 rebs and Junior Tariq Lane with 9pts. The Bucs now fall to 3-6 in the league.

Laney snaps a 5-game losing streak, earning a big win over Jack Britt in the MLK Jam at Union High School. Laney was led by sophomore CJ Kirchoff, who scored 23 points, Kirby Kealon with 17 points, and Bert Rivenbark with 12 points and 12 rebounds. The Bucs improve to 9-9, and 3-3 in league play. The Bucs take to the road on the way to Shallotte to take on West Brunswick on Friday Night

Laney lost their second straight conference game this week. Tariq Lane had 18pts with 9 Rebounds and 7 assists, Kirby Kealon had 19 pts, and CJ Kirchoff with 11pts.

Three games in four days took a toll on the Bucs that found themselves making turnovers on the road vs Pender Friday night. This marked the 3rd game in 4 days on the road for the Bucs. Leading scorer was Tariq Lane with 21 pts followed by Kirby Kealon with 18pts CJ Kirchoff with 12 pts and Rob Peterson with 8pts.

Next up for the Bucs is a date with always powerful Raleigh Millbrook in the Leon Brogden Holiday tournament Dec 26 1:30pm at UNCW

Laney wins their 4th straight and 7th out of 8 games, with their 4th game of the season on the road. Laney currently is still in 1st place in the Mideastern Conference. Tariq Lane had 21 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds, while Kirby Kealon added 15 points alongside sophomore CJ Kirchoff's 10 points and freshman Rob Peterson's 8 points and 12 rebounds. Up next for Laney is a road trip to take on Pender.
