Laney traveled to Greenville, NC and was handed its second conference loss of the season. It was the second game without the services of leading scorer, sophomore Kirby Kealon. The Bucs could not find the net Friday night, shooting a dismal 24% from the field. Leading scorers were sophomores Tariq Lane with 11 points and Keegan Czesak with 11 points.


Shutting Down the Scots

The Bucs put five players in double figures lead by sophomore Keegan Czesak with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Ty Balcombe brought in 12 points, Kevin Bell contributed 10 points, Tevin Jones brought in 10 points and 10 rebounds, and Tariq Lane swept in 12 points.

The Bucs return to action Friday night with a road trip to Greenville Rose.

Taking on the Vikings

Kevin Bell lead all scores with 24 points, including 6 3-pointers, but Trevor Singleton and his fellow Vikings proved too much for the Bucs to overcome in a well-played physical ball game that saw both teams commit less than 10 turnovers.

Results of the Leon Brogden Tournament

 

The Bucs got a 58-46 win over Frederick Douglas Academy from the Bronx, New York on the third day of the Leon Brogden Holiday Tournament. Sophomore guard Kirby Kealon lead the way with 14 points.

The first two days saw the Bucs drop games to the champions of the Tournament and state ranked Hoke County Bucks (80-45) and North Myrtle Beach (51-47). Kirby Kealon and Kevin Bell lead the way for the Bucs versus Hoke with 10 points apiece. In the North Myrtle Beach game, the Bucs were lead by Ty Balcombe with 13 points and Kirby Kealon with 12 points.

Next up, the Bucs take on a conference match with Hoggard at Michael Jordan Gymnasium - Fred Lynch/Ruby Sutton Court on Friday night, Jan. 4th. The Game will be live-streamed at iHigh.com and also shown on NHCSTV on Jan. 19 at 7:00 pm.

Tariq Lane lead the way with 14 points, Tevin Jones chipped in with 11 points, and off the bench, hitting 3 3-pointers in the last 3 minutes of the game was Nick Parker. Next up, the Bucs take on the Hoke County Hokies in the Leon Brogden Holiday Tournament on December 27th at UNC Wilmington.
